In Argentina, there is a unique place, which in size is very small, but it is spoken all over the world. It's about the stunning Quebrada del Condorito National Park. In it you can miraculously relax, admire the wonderful scenery and observe the life of the rarest birds.
Location
The Quebrada del Condorito National Park is located near the deepest gorge of the mountain slopes of Pampa de Achala. This Argentine mountain range belongs to the province of La Pampilla. The closest cities to the park are Mina-Clavero (60 km) and Córdoba (30 km).
What's interestnig?
The Quebrada del Condorito has great fame thanks to the unique view of the vultures called the Condor. Birds nest and live in the gorge for more than one century, so you can see small chicks and the oldest representatives, whose wings length reaches 3 m. It is forbidden to approach their nests, because predators can unpredictably lead themselves. Therefore, the tour of the park is 0.5 km below the peak of the bird cluster.
In addition to condors, in the reserve you can meet other of its inhabitants: snakes, lizards, foxes, wolves, deer, llamas, etc. Mostly they live in the flat territory of the park.
Features of visit
The pleasant features of the reserve are absolutely free entrance for everyone and the fact that it is allowed to break tents here. Staying overnight in Quebrada del Condorito is better between May and July, when the condors are quieter, and the weather conditions are quite mild.
The gorge of Quebrada del Condorito is deep and precipitous. If you go down to it to the very bottom, you can admire the beginning of the mountain river. The descent is carried out only with the help of special mountaineering equipment. If you do not belong to experienced climbers, then it's better to hire a guide at local travel agencies.
How to get there?
To the park, tourists are accustomed to get by means of sightseeing transport, a car and public minibuses. In this area, Coata buses from Cordoba or Mina-Clavero often run. If you are going to overcome the path to the park with a personal car, then choose route number 20, which will connect the two above-mentioned cities.
