Therefore, many are interested in removing gel-lacquer at home. After all, you want to get rid of the cracked varnish immediately, and not everyone has the opportunity to go to a specialist.

When carrying out the procedure, you need to understand that working with this material is much more difficult than with the usual. After all, the gel is practically absorbed into the upper layer of the nail plate, because it is not necessary to rip it off, because of the probability of seriously damaging the nails.
For the implementation of the procedure, the following materials must be prepared:
- a nail polish remover or an ordinary liquid with acetone, the use of products without acetone will not have any effect;
- cotton wheels, previously cut into two parts;
- orange manicure stick (in the absence of it you can use plastic);
- The foil is also needed to remove the coating from gel-varnish, it can be a special baking foil or the one into which chocolate is wrapped;
- a grinding nail file.
Removal of gel-varnish at home
The process is carried out by the following stages:
- First, you should remove the gloss, passing the nail file on the nails. You do not need to press hard on the instrument. This step is skipped if shellac was applied.
- Hand grease any fat cream. This should protect the skin from the effects of acetone.
- The halves of the cotton discs are wetted in a prepared liquid and covered with a nail.
- Then the caps are made of foil, by wrapping each finger with it.
- After holding for about 10 minutes, the cap is removed and the wand is scraped

It is important to remove the lacquer consistently, since when removing the foil you need to have time to clean the coating so that it does not freeze again. - At the final stage, the hands are washed and processed with a nail file, giving the desired shape. In a situation where a special liquid is used, you can remove the caps in ten minutes. If a conventional liquid is used with the presence of acetone, then the time should be increased by 5-7 minutes. Also time increases in case of removal of a varnish of the sated colors.
