When the dream comes true and you acquire a plot, you want to decorate it as beautifully and brightly as possible. Many beginners are facing the problem of how to make a flower bed. It is a problem, since not everyone knows how to choose a place and plants for a flower garden, how to make it correctly.
Types of flower beds
The first step is to decide which composition you want to compose, where to place it. There are several options for the classification of flower beds.
- Depending on the height of the selected plants, the flowerbeds are conventionally divided into carpet and flower beds. For the creation of a carpet-type flower garden, decorative deciduous shrubs, ground cover plants, and for the flower type - high plantations taking into account the duration of flowering;
- According to the shape of the structure and placement on the site, classical, uplifted, high and multilevel types of flower beds are divided. There is a separate view - vertical. To create a classic variation, each flower bed radius is raised from the larger to the smaller by 10 cm to improve the view and avoid stagnation of the water;
- As for the shape, here the design of the flower beds is completely unlimited. For the device of a flower garden it is possible to use absolutely any things from use - baskets, boats, old cars and even beds.
Flowerbed scheme
Beautifully arrange a flower bed on the shoulder even to a budding gardener. It is enough to select the right plants and apply everything to paper first. You can create your own flower garden project yourself. But when fantasy does not suggest anything, you can use the classic flowerbed scheme.
The simplest is the layout of the central flower bed. Outwardly the shape of the flower bed resembles concentric circles. First a small circle is drawn and plants of the same species are planted in it. Further on a circle plant one more kind of plants, then, again in a circle, another. Instead of a circle, you can plant a flower bed on this principle in the form of a star or diamond. There are other standard planting schemes: "Viennese flower", "Royal flowerbed", "Bizarre pattern".
How to decorate a flower bed?

- when picking flowers, be sure to pay attention not only to the flowers, but also to the leaves. Remember that flowering is not permanent, so for some time your plantations will be exclusively deciduous in decor;
- when composing the composition, pay attention to the edges of the flower bed. Often neglecting the decoration of the edges of the flower garden makes it sloppy and gives an unfinished look. Best for these purposes are low-grade varieties of geranium, geysher, dwarf spiraea;
- when decorating the flowerbed in your country house, do not try to plant a lot of different kinds of plants. It is better to take time to select varieties and their combination among themselves;
- the selection of plants should begin with soloists, the highest and brightest of all. It is quite enough two or three kinds, on the plan they can be
to arrange by group or singly in different parts of the flower bed. After that, proceed to the selection of the main green mass of the flower bed. Remember that other plants should serve as background for soloists and not compete with them; - perennial flowerbeds are very convenient in the care, but this does not mean that they should be planted once and only deal with weeding and watering. Every two or three years perennials require transplantation and renovation, otherwise the decorative qualities will fade significantly.
