Reproduction of raspberry cuttings

From year to year, those who want to increase the area of the plot for aromatic raspberries do not decrease. Grow fruit and sweet varieties will help the reproduction of raspberries cuttings.

Reproduction of raspberry with green cuttings

In addition to planting offsprings, this method of vegetative reproduction of raspberries is often used as a cuttings. It is better to implement it in late summer or early autumn.

Effectively rooted cuttings from annual green shoots, which appear in adult plants from the root with 2-3 leaves. Cuttings are cut in the middle or late summer. This method - propagation by cuttings - is perfect for repairing a raspberry, which usually rarely sprouts. But, it is true, the material is not harvested in the summer, but in the late spring.

In a cool, cloudy, or rather rainy, weather with a sharp knife, which must be cut into the ground, cut off green cuttings, which have already developed 2-3 leaves. They are then cut obliquely to a length of 8-10 cm and left in a solution of the biostimulator (rootstocks, heteroauxin) for 10-12 hours. After this cuttings should be deepened into a moist substrate of peat, sand and humus in equal parts, then cover with a film. The container with the blanks is placed in conditions with an air temperature of 22-26 degrees, the cuttings are watered, ventilated and often sprayed. Usually rooting takes place after a month and a half. To a permanent place, the seedlings are "relocated" along with the earthen lump when transplanting.

If we talk about the propagation of raspberries cuttings in the water, (that is, rooting in the aquatic environment), then, unfortunately, this method is raspberry unsuccessful.

Reproduction of raspberries by root cuttings

Such cuttings are harvested in the fall in October, when harvesting raspberry from offspring. It is necessary to select the largest roots, whose diameter is not less than 2 mm and cut into pieces up to 10 cm long. In winter, cuttings are stored in the sand in the basement. In the early spring, billets can be planted in pits to a depth of 6-8 cm to a permanent place.
