That's why the technique needs to be applied in infancy, when the brain is not yet fully formed.

How to make Doman cards and how to work with them?

One of the advantages of the technique is that you can make Glen Doman's cards with your own hands. To do this, you will need a regular white cardboard, which you need to cut into squares of 30x30. If you plan to develop the linguistic abilities of the baby, then the plates should be rectangular. Let's give an example of how to make cards with figures up to 10 by the method of Doman:

• with a red felt-tip pen with a thick rod, apply on the cards a point from 1 to 10. They can be placed on the plate in an absolutely chaotic order;
• on the back of the card, write a number equal to the number of points;
• On the edges of the cards leave the fields to keep the card do not close the points.

The same principle is used when teaching words. On cards, words are written in large letters, and on the reverse side they are repeated so that you can see what you are showing the child. If you have a printer, this will make it easier at times, since you can print cards much faster than drawing them.

3. Demonstration of cards with the same words should be repeated no more than three times a day.
4. The more new material you enter every day of training, the more your kid will be able to remember. If the child asks for more cards, do more.
5. Do not force the child to do it if he does not want it. Remember that a child can get tired, he may be out of mood, etc. If you notice that the baby has become distracted, postpone training for a while.
6. Do not forget to deal with your child every day. It is advisable to choose the same time, so that the child already knew that there will be an occupation and waited for it.
7. Prepare for classes in advance. Shuffle the cards so that each time the sequence of words and figures is different, and also new material appears among the old ones.
8. It is not necessary to reward the child for his successes with any sweets and goodies. Otherwise, he will have an association that training is associated with something tasty.

The shortcomings of Glen Doman's methodology

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the technique of Glen Doman has its drawbacks. The main one is that the child is passive during classes. The technique teaches only to remember, but not to reflect. Thus, the baby absorbs huge amounts of information, but the emotional perception of the studied objects is not involved. He does not see behind the words and figures the real subjects studied. Therefore, in order not to turn a child into a "soulless encyclopedia", in addition to classes with cards, it is important to show and tell how it really looks like, what has been studied, and in the case of figures, it is worthwhile to start studying quantitative properties of figures in parallel.
