The rules of the game in ordinary (Russian) checkers for beginners

A standard game set consists of a board in a black and white cage (8 rows vertically and 8 horizontally) and checkers, which at the beginning of the game actions are divided equally and are arranged in three extreme rows on black cells.

Next, we'll figure out what the essence of the game is and how the moves are made:

  1. The first step is for the participant playing white.
  2. Further moves are made alternately along the diagonal, in cells of dark color.
  3. The direction can be changed to the right or left, the backward passage is allowed only if it was possible to bring down the opponent's checker.
  4. It is possible to remove the opponent's chips from the field, if there is a free cell behind it and you are on the same diagonal. So, moving to a free square, you shoot the opponent's checker from the board.
  5. In one move, you can remove several opponent's chips if their location allows it. That is, there are free cells between them for moves.
  6. The completed move is considered after the player has removed his hand from the board or after the removal of someone else's chips.
  7. If the player's checker gets to the extreme opposite row of the board, that is, to the opponent's starting line, then it turns into a "lady".
  8. The privilege of the king is that she can move to an unlimited number of cells in a diagonal direction.
  9. The player has no right to miss the opportunity to knock down the opponent's checker, although often such moves drive the "royal" chip into a dead end.
  10. By specifying the rules of the game for beginners, it is important to note that in the checkers the winner is the player who left the opponent "unarmed", or created a situation in which the opponent can no longer make any moves. If no player can do this, then a draw is awarded.

As you can see, the rules of the game in checkers are simple, both for children and for parents, and having mastered them, kids and adults can improve their skills and intellectual abilities. This game is perfect for children older than 5-6 years, as it perfectly develops logic and analytical thinking. Well, for adults it's just a great opportunity to spend time with the family.
