Types of fireplaces for home
Depending on the fuel used, all fireplaces are divided into:
- wood - the most traditional, can be made of brick or metal, require special architectural work and engineering work, in particular this applies to the chimney;
- gas - the flame is supported by liquefied or natural gas;
- electric fireplaces - work from electricity, therefore, they do not require fuel, they can be installed in apartments, since they do not need a chimney.
- biofireplaces - use special vegetable fuel, which does not form smoke and soot during combustion, it also does not require a chimney, so it can be installed anywhere.
The last three types of fireplaces are rather decorative, they have a simple design without complex elements. Of course, they can not fully recreate the effect of an open crackling fire, but they are easier to install and operate.
Depending on the method of installation, fireplaces for cottages can be of the following types:
- walled - their rear wall adjoins the wall, but is not recessed into it;
- built-in - recessed into the wall right up to the cladding, they can be installed only at the stage of construction or major repairs of the house;
- angular - this kind of fireplaces is specially designed for placement in one of their corners of the room;
- island - stand alone away from the walls, can have a full circular view.
