What do the terms 4K (Ultra HD) and UHD mean?
Before you figure out what 4K UHD TVs are, you need to understand the terminology. So, 4K and UHD are not synonyms and not the name of something single. This is the designation of technically completely different things.
4K is a production professional standard, whereas UHD is a broadcasting standard and a consumer display. Speaking of 4K, we mean the resolution of 4096x260 pixels, which is 2 times more than the previous standard 2K (2048x1080). In addition, the 4K term also defines the encoding of content.
UHD, as the next stage of Full HD, increases the screen resolution to 3840x2160. As you can see, the values of 4K and UHD resolutions do not coincide, although in advertising we often hear these two concepts next to the name of the same TV.
