Steel Panel Heatsinks

In the heating of private houses, cottages, cottages, steel panel radiators have become one of the most popular types of batteries, since they require an autonomous heating system. The main characteristics of steel radiators are high heat output, reasonable price, a large choice of sizes and capacities, and a neat design.

Design and dimensions of steel panel batteries

The steel radiator panel radiator is a design in the center of which are two welded thin steel plates with grooves in the form of channels through which water circulates. The next layer, which increases the heat transfer of the radiator, forms a crate-panel with an n-shaped relief. The top layer is the decorative panels. In terms of its parameters panel radiators can satisfy any requests and come up for any room - their height can be from 30 to 90cm, and the width varies from 40 to 300cm.

Types of steel panel radiators

The power of steel panel radiators depends on the type of their construction. That is, the more panels, the more power. Type is indicated in the marking:

Ways to connect panel radiators

Connection of steel panel radiators is possible lateral or lower, it depends on the model. The heater with a side connection can be connected to the system on the left or right, their installation does not cause difficulties. Steel radiators with a lower connection are called more versatile in operation, as they include a thermostatic valve that allows you to install a thermal head and manually adjust the heating of the room. Plus, the option of the lower connection allows you to mask the supply pipes, you can find out this type of radiator by marking "V". Naturally, the cost of radiators providing a lower connection is an order of magnitude higher.

Calculation of steel radiators

Calculating the thermal power of steel radiators is extremely important, since if you purchase a radiator with insufficient power, it will not be able to be supplemented, as is possible with sectional batteries, it simply needs to be replaced with a new one. Usually the calculation is made as follows: the volume of the room is calculated in cubic meters and multiplied by 41W, the necessary power of the radiator is obtained, which you need to orientate with the purchase. If the room, for example, has external insulation, then in calculating the figure 41 can be slightly reduced, if the room is corner, then, on the contrary, slightly increase. The 41W power is only an average power factor needed to heat 1 cubic meter of a typical room.

Disadvantages of steel panel radiators

Before proceeding to the selection of steel radiators panel type, it is important to know their disadvantages:

Also, aluminum and new vacuum radiators are often used for heating homes.
