All wooden fences can be divided into two groups. The first one is the hedge . It consists of boards, which are attached to reliable supports - pillars. The boards are fixed both vertically and horizontally. The hedges are decorated with drawings or wood carvings.

If you decide to build a fence in your area, experts recommend using coniferous wood for these purposes: pine, cedar, spruce, and larch. Let's look at how to make a decorative fence from a tree with your own hands.

Fence installation from wood by own hands

For work we will need such tools:

  1. On the perimeter of the site, which must be fenced, it is necessary to put supporting poles.
  2. To do this, you need to make a marking of the exact places of installation of these pillars. The distance between them on average should be two meters. At the corners set the pointed pegs. Between them we pull the cord and insert a new peg every two meters. So we do around the perimeter of the future fence.
  3. The next step will be drilling wells for the installation of poles in place of each peg. To ensure that the fence was stable, the pillars are dug one third of their height.
  4. Before installing the supporting poles, their part, which will be in the ground, is covered with a waterproofing compound, which will contribute to a longer operation of the entire structure.
  5. In a drilled pit, fill 2-3 spades of earth, put a pillar and shake it a little, pushing it into the ground. Fill the post with earth and tightly pound it. In order for the fence to be stronger, the columns can be concreted or cemented.
  6. Between the corner pillars, which are the main in the whole structure, there must be an angle of 90 °.
  7. Nails or screws fix horizontally the transverse bars to the supporting posts, making sure that they are parallel to each other.
  8. Now you can stuff the strikers to the cross bars, positioning them depending on the type of fence selected.
  9. The fence made of wood, installed by the hands at the dacha, must be covered with a two or three layer primer to protect it from adverse external influences.
  10. The final stage of installation of a fence from a tree by own hands will be its painting in any color you like.
