World Day Against Terrorism

Every year on September 3 , the World Day Against Terrorism is held, this date is associated with the terrible Beslan events in 2004. In the course of that tragedy, in the process of capture by militants of one of the schools, about 300 people were killed, among them 172 children. In Russia, this day was approved in 2005 as a sign of solidarity with the anti-terrorist struggle throughout the world.

Terrorism is a threat to the peaceful existence of people

At present, terrorist attacks constitute a threat to the security of all mankind. In recent years, there has been an increase in such crimes that carry massive human sacrifices, destroy spiritual values ​​and links between peoples.

Therefore, everyone in the world should understand that it is necessary to fight it and prevent the emergence of threats. The best prevention from extremist manifestations is mutual respect.

On the International Day Against Terrorism, victims of terrorist acts are recalled, events dedicated to their memory in mourning places, rallies, minutes of silence, requiems, lay wreaths at the memorials of the dead. Hundreds of people around the world, activists, officials honor the memory of killed law enforcement officers during the execution of their official duties and civilians, and make statements against terrorism.

On the day of solidarity with the antiterrorist struggle, various exhibitions and lectures are held, raising the theme of protection from threats of extremism, exhibitions of children's images, charitable concerts. Public organizations conduct screenings of documentary tapes about tragedies, races, actions "Light a candle". They urge people to be in harmony with each other, not to allow the development of violence.

On the Day of Combating Terrorism, society needs to be informed that it has no nationality, but generates murders and death. To overcome this common misfortune can be an association, careful attitude towards each other, to the history and traditions of all peoples.
