Methods of fixing drywall to the walls

There are two versions of the material for fixing gypsum board when leveling walls:

1. Frameworks made of metal profiles . It will be most reliable to fix the drywall on the frames. The downside of this method can be considered that the minimum thickness of the metal profile is 4 cm, so the frame will "eat" a large enough space, and this is unacceptable in small rooms. The distance between the profiles should not be more than 60 cm. If you have chosen the horizontal location of the profiles - the extreme bars should be near the ceiling and the floor, and if the vertical - almost at the corners of the wall.
2. Glue . This option does not steal the place and does not require additional time for making the frame. In this case, you should take a more careful look at the preparation of the walls before fixing the drywall, you need to get rid of all the bumps and irregularities on the wall.
3. Wooden slats . This option is similar to the skeletons of metal profiles, but less durable. Use 60x16 mm slats, thinner is not recommended, as the design does not provide a base for self-tapping screws.

1. Prepare the walls - for this purify from the old coating, remove wallpaper or paint. Prime them.
2. Prepare a putty mixture for jointing dry stucco. It should be stirred before the work itself.
3. After waiting a few minutes, the composition of the adhesive is applied with a notched trowel to the entire surface of the wall. Thus, adhesion of the adhesive composition is checked.
4. Stick on the sheets of drywall and carefully watch that they are tightly pressed against the wall. The sheets must be joined end to end and after the solution is frozen, they shpaklyuyut, if necessary, grind.

2. The sheets are applied to the wall, covered with fresh putty, and pressed. Do this evenly over the entire surface.
