Window decoration is performed at the final stage of repair and this operation can dramatically affect how visually the decor of your renovated room will be perceived. Not only the textiles themselves, but also the appearance of the cornice is of great importance in resolving this issue. These products can be divided into design, construction, material. Aluminum cornices for curtains have always dominated the market, differing in weight of advantages. If you are scheduled for a large repair, then we advise you to consider these very practical devices for attaching curtains.

The main types of aluminum cornices

  1. Round aluminum wall cornices. Previously, the cornices, despite a small selection, were most widespread due to their simplicity and low cost. The diameter of the tube usually ranges within 4 cm, which is enough to secure the fastening of curtains of any density. They are usually supplied with metal or plastic brackets, a set of rings and clamps, and also two end caps, which should prevent the curtains from slipping to the floor. Round bars are rarely longer than 3.5 m, they do not bend well, so it is problematic to use them in rooms with complex layouts.
  2. Stringed aluminum cornice. Depending on the composition, single-row, double-row and three-row string cornices can be used. Here, instead of a tube, a thin length-adjustable wire is used, which makes it possible to use this device on openings of various sizes. Even huge panoramic windows do not become a big problem if you have a universal string cornice. But the wire is not very suitable for a thick curtain of great weight, you have to periodically pull the strings, eliminating sagging.
  3. Profile ceiling aluminum cornice. When you need to repeat the complex configuration of the window as much as possible, you can not do without a profile cornice. Initially, they did not have a beautiful appearance, but now it's possible to buy products with grooves for a decorative bar or eurocarnish with Velcro for an effective lambrequin. The most versatile are flexible aluminum cornices. The length of such products reaches 6 m and in appearance they resemble a plastic tape, which can be transported in a folded form. This type of profile has an affordable cost and allows drapes to be made in any room.
