Ancon Hill is located near the state capital, Panama . The height of the hill is about 200 m. From its peak, not only the entire city is well seen, but also the Panama Canal , as well as the bridge connecting the two Americas.

According to one of the versions, the name of the hill went on behalf of the first steamer crossing the Panama Canal. According to another version, Ancon is the abbreviation of the name of the National Association for Conservation of Nature in Panama (Asociación Nacional para la Conservación de la Naturaleza).

In 1981, Hill Ancon Hill was declared a protected area. It is prohibited to stay on its territory, but everyone can walk to its summit. On the way to the top you can not only appreciate the magnificent views of the capital, but also meet the inhabitants of the reserve: they are sloths, iguanas, deer, toucans, monkeys and many species of birds. And the way to the top of Ancon Hill in Panama is decorated with orchids, which are very numerous here. They are protected by CITES.

Ancon Hill is located in the suburbs of the capital of the state of Panama . You can reach it by special buses, a taxi or a rented car . The road to the bottom of the Ancon hill will take less than an hour. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the top on foot, but there is an opportunity to get on the hill and by car.
