Artistic parquet is an original ornament based on exotic woods. It is often called mosaic parquet. There are also the most complex compositions, consisting not only of geometric patterns, but also curvilinear and oval patterns. This kind of parquet is called a palace.
Initially, the manufacture of parquet was performed exclusively by hand. But by the beginning of the twentieth century, almost all the factories switched to automated manufacturing of parquet rivets, and public and residential buildings began to massively supply parquet floors to ordinary laying. In this regard, art parquet began to emerge from everyday life, and the secrets of its manufacture and laying began to be forgotten. But in recent years, the mass development of new building techniques and materials began, and art parquet has again taken a leading position.
Types of art parquet
At the moment, designers distinguish several types of parquet, which differ in the type of material used, in the design and technique of laying. Depending on the external characteristics of the parquet are divided into the following groups:
- Geometric parquet . It reminds the mosaic , because it consists of small geometric elements that form an unusual pattern. To produce such a coating, several types of wood with contrasting colors are used. All the fragments of the parquet are of rectilinear shape and invariably symmetrically duplicated, forming a pattern.
- Parquet with curvilinear fragments . Looks very elegant and unusual. The background for the picture is a tree of light shades, and the pattern itself has a dark brown or bard shade. The laying of such a parquet requires the costs of materials and time, but the end result is worth the effort.
- Parquet with a heraldic sign . This type of flooring is chosen by wealthy people who want to emphasize their origin. Family name or initials of the customer, are carried out exclusively to order, so this parquet is considered the most expensive. This parquet requires a large spacious room, as the beauty of the heraldic sign fully manifests itself in a spacious room.
Artificial parquet laying
Installation of parquet requires certain skills and compliance with all recommendations, since the laying work is very difficult even for a professional with many years of experience. Before you start, you should arrange a perfectly flat surface, which will form the basis of the parquet. The strength of the base will depend on the strength and durability of the entire floor covering.
