Beaches of Croatia

No pleasure can compare with reclining on the golden beaches of Croatia. The cleanest coast, beautiful views, natural harbors and bays. UNESCO marked most of Croatia's beaches with the Blue Flag, which means that the beach meets the level of cleanliness, safety and quality of service.

However, tourists who cherish dreams of sybaritic rest on the sand, will have to choose from a fairly limited number of sandy beaches. The coast of Croatia is rocky, so the beaches are mostly covered with small pebbles. Of course, pebble beaches have their charm and mood, moreover, walking on small pebbles is considered beneficial for health.

The best pebble beaches

In general, the whole world appreciates beaches with small pebbles, up to 2.5 cm. Walking along it is very nice, it turns out a real foot massage. Pebbles do not stick to the skin. The water of pebble beaches seems cleaner. The stones warmed by the sun warm their feet. Stone therapy in the bosom of nature.

But pebble beaches with a large stone are less popular. First of all, because walking on large stones from 5 to 10 cm in diameter is very inconvenient, and most prefer to visit the territory of such beaches exclusively in shoes. But the probability of getting to such a beach in Croatia is negligible - most of the large-pebble beaches are in Greece.

The most famous pebbly beach in Croatia is the Golden Horn. According to the shape of the plait of the beach, it really looks like a horn that breaks out from the general line of the green coastline. Small white pebbles from afar seems golden, so the "horn" and nicknamed gold. At the height of the season all 580 meters of the beach are hidden under colorful sunbeds having a rest from all corners of the world.

Sand castles near the water

The best serene vacation with the family in the sun is where there are sandy beaches in Croatia. It provides everything for an ideal family vacation: special areas for children, fenced playgrounds, cafes and restaurants offering shade and the opportunity to have a snack. Only here you can find so well-groomed and clean beaches, equipped with shower cabins and toilets. Still, the Blue Flag of Unesco does not just decorate almost all the sandy beaches of Croatia.

The best sandy beaches of Croatia include: Lumbarda beach on the island of Korcula, beaches on the islands of Krk, Lopud, Mljet, Murter, Ciovo. The largest beach in Dubrovnik is Lapad Beach, Saldun Bay, 3 km from the town of Trogir. The most warm water is the beach zone Nin, which is located 18 km from Zadar. Here a whole series of beaches (all sandy), in all the water temperature is 3 degrees higher than in the neighboring areas.

Freedom of mind and body

Almost all beaches in Croatia are suitable for children. On the coast of the country there is not a single large industrial enterprise, so the ecological safety of these beaches is at an altitude. The state control over the cleanliness of the coastal waters is very strict. The only beaches for which not every parent is allowed a child - nudists.

Since the purity of the beaches is known all over the world, then the fans of relaxed leisure popularity of the resort did not pass by. Nudist beaches in Croatia are many, there is even a specially designated for this type of holiday island. The very first nudist beach here opened in 1936 on the island of Rab. But the real boom on Croatia's nudist beaches came in the 60s of the 20th century. It was then that the authorities of Yugoslavia officially allowed the use of the island of Koversada for recreation, free not only by the soul, but also by the body.

The unique climate of Croatia, with a long summer, hot sunny days and very warm evenings, could not help promoting the active development of nude beaches.
