Some women scrupulously care for the skin of hands, daily it is moistened and nourished, SPA procedures are performed. But even a careful approach does not relieve such a problem as burrs on the fingers - the cause of this defect may not consist in external factors at all. Dermatologists claim that exfoliation of the stratum corneum around the nail plates can have more serious "roots".
External causes of burring on fingers
The main factor that provokes the described trouble is too dry skin. Due to lack of moisture, it loses its density, elasticity, and eventually cracks.
Other causes of burrs on the fingers:
- permanent contact with water, especially if it is stiff;
- work with aggressive chemicals, poisonous compounds;
- use of detergents without gloves;
- weathering, hypothermia in winter or overheating in summer;
- mechanical cuticle trauma when performing manicure;
- use of substandard varnishes and materials for building up;
- excessive overgrowth of cuticles;
- onychophagia (habit of biting nails and skin around them);
- insufficient hygienic and cosmetic care of hands;
- Application of liquids for removing varnish with acetone;
- incorrect use of the nail file (deep cutting of the plates on the sides).
Internal causes of burrs on the fingers
If all of the above can be excluded, one should look for the source of the problem in the state of health of the internal organs.
Possible causes of skin defects around the nail plates:
- deficiency of vitamins A and E, group B;
- lack of trace elements, especially zinc and calcium;
- intestinal dysbiosis;
- diseases of the digestive tract and liver;
- dermatological infections;
- hormonal disorders .
