Catherine Deneuve and other activists condemned the wave of hatred directed at men

An open collective letter of rather unexpected content was recently published in the newspaper Le Monde. It was compiled and signed by not indifferent European women, including actresses Catherine Deneuve and Ingrid Caven, writer Catherine Mille. In total - a hundred of famous ladies decided to express their opinion, which is very different from the opinion of most of the fair sex.

The message is that women should seriously reconsider their attitude to combating sexual violence. The authors of the letter believe that the problem of sexual violence, the abuse of men by their position in the service and the unfair treatment of women takes place in modern realities and the scandal surrounding Harvey Weinstein is a direct confirmation of this.

However, such a furious struggle with sexual harassment is more like a puritanical view of things and seriously limits sexual freedom.

A hundred famous Frenchwoman noted that "the feverish desire to send pigs to the slaughterhouse" does not play into the hands of the women themselves. Public pressure forces men to resign because of their mistakes. They can not just touch the knee of the lady they liked, try to kiss a woman or just talk on private topics during lunch at work.

It is worth acknowledging that Catherine Deneuve is not the first time against such an active negative attitude towards Harvey Weinstein. Last fall, she condemned the action #balancetonporc ("Show your pig"), which swept through social networks.
