Ceramic crane-beech

The good owners have everything in the house to be in order, and first of all it concerns the water taps. Agree, even the most expensive plumbing and luxurious tiles fade against the background of the current tap with rusty stains. Today, let's talk about how to repair the ceramic tap-axle.

Faucet with ceramic beetle

They say that only very scant people are capable of repairing the ceramic tap-changer for the mixer. The fact is that all complaints that the ceramic crane-bug is dripping or flowing, arise for one reason - the plastic shim included in the box is worn out. It would seem that it is easier to buy and replace this gasket. But in practice it turns out that it is simply impossible to buy such a gasket on the market - they simply are not being sold. As it turns out, this is simply unprofitable, since the cost of such a gasket is only 10% of the cost of the entire ceramic crane-axle box. Exit two: replace the ceramic bead completely or make a gasket for it yourself. You can cut the gasket from a piece of technical rubber of suitable thickness or wind the FUM thread.

The order of repair of ceramic faucet-beet for a mixer

So, it is decided - we will try to bring the crane-axle into an operative state independently. We are determined and get to work:

  1. We overlap the valves installed on the risers of cold and hot water supply. If this is not done, then the attempt to repair the mixer will end with attempts to quickly eliminate the flood created in the process.
  2. Armed with a key to the size of the axle box (usually x14) and carefully twist it. Do not use pliers or wrench keys for this, so you can damage the brass nuts. Also, we carefully manage the valve of the crane, since after damaging it it is necessary to change the ceramic bead completely.
  3. We dismantle the ceramic tap-axle and take out the worn out detail.
  4. We replace the waste gasket with a new one, manufactured independently. If the material for laying a suitable thickness is not found in the farm, we take up a nylon thread or a thin twine and wind up. With a successful rewind, our tap will last another 2-3 months, or even half a year.
  5. We collect our faucet with the ceramic beaker in the initial state. Maximally open our valve and only after that very slowly open the valve on the riser. And only after the water has displaced all the accumulated air from the system, the crane can be used.
