Signs of constipation in infants
Constipation in infants is characterized not only by the lack of stool for a long time, but also by other signs, namely:
- the child is constantly naughty, crying;
- the crumb runs, flushes, raises the legs to the stomach, but this does not lead to the result;
- at certain moments, the kid suddenly starts crying loudly, shouting and restlessly waving his hands and feet;
- when emptied naturally or artificially, the feces of the child have a characteristic appearance - either it is very hard and resembles "peas", or its first portion is a "stopper", behind which appears a gruel-like mass.
In all other cases, the absence of stools in an infant during several days is not a sign of constipation. Often, mother's milk is so well absorbed by the kids that they simply can not go to the toilet.

- early introduction of complementary foods;
- insufficient intake of fluids to the baby;
- In addition, if there is at least one similar episode in the anamnesis, then the baby may be afraid to empty the intestine due to the pain that may follow.

Of course, if there is constipation, every mom wants to help her baby as soon as possible. For this, there are many methods of folk or traditional medicine. In particular, among the things that can be given to babies from constipation, the following means are particularly noteworthy:
- Prelax is lactulose syrup. As a rule, this drug is prescribed for 10 ml per day, but depending on the weight, age and composition of the baby, the dosage may be different;
- Dufalac - if constipation occurs, infants are given 5 ml each at meal time;
- Portalac is a preparation of lactulose for getting rid of the problem of constipation. In children up to a year, 1 teaspoon per day is used.
It is not always necessary to resort to medicines in case of constipation in the baby. Very often it is enough just to adjust the diet of the mother, namely: to reduce the amount of protein coming from food, to introduce in the daily menu fresh fruits and vegetables rich in fiber, especially melon.
To enhance the taste and expansion of the composition in a similar broth, you can also add a small amount of figs or raisins, and if the baby has already reached 3-4 months, you can enrich this drink and dried apricots.
