Dexafort for dogs - instructions for use
1 ml of Dexafort contains 1.32 mg of dexamethasone sodium phosphate and 2.57 mg of dexamethasone phenylpropionate. It is a high-speed drug with a lasting effect. The maximum effect of Dexaforte after 1 hour, and the therapeutic effect persists to 96 hours.
This medicine is used to treat bronchial asthma, mastitis , joint diseases, allergic dermatitis , eczema, posttraumatic swelling in dogs.
Dexafort for dogs is applied as a prick in the withers (subcutaneously) or intramuscularly. In this case, the drug should not be used together with vaccines.
The dosage of Dexafort for dogs depends on the weight of the dog. For animals weighing up to 20 kg, 0.5 ml is used, and for larger dogs - 1 ml of the drug. Repeated drug is given after 7 days.
Dexafort for dogs - side effects
Since Dexafort is a hormonal drug, its use is contraindicated in viral infections, diabetes, osteoporosis, heart failure, kidney disease, hyperadrenocorticism. Pregnant dogs use Dexafort with great care, but only in the first two trimesters, in the latter the drug is forbidden to enter because of the risk of premature birth.
Medication Dexafort for dogs can have such undesirable side effects as polyuria - an increase in the amount of urine, polyphagia - an excessively high appetite, polydipsia - a strong thirst.
