Only occasionally you may need to bathe a cat: if it gets too dirty, and you do not want the dirt to spread all over the apartment, or if it gets soiled that if it gets into her body it can damage the animal's health. Another reason is the fight against parasites.

Fans of frequent cat washing and believing that they are doing the right thing are actually mistaken. Wool in cats and cats is covered with a special lubricant, produced by the skin. So every time you wash off this layer with water and shampoo and deprive the animal's hair of natural protection.

And yet sometimes there is a need to wash the cat, just how to do it, if it scratches and is generally afraid of water to horror?

How to wash a cat at home?

Picking up a suitable shampoo (necessarily feline), you go directly to the bathing procedure. Before this, about 4 hours, the animal should not be fed. Try not to worry and not be nervous about the upcoming event, as the cats perfectly feel your mood and will overcome it, which will only complicate the task.

Do not immediately lower the cat into the water. First take her in your arms, stroke. Bathing water should be prepared in advance and its temperature should be in the range of 36-37 ° C. The temperature of the air is not lower than 22 ° C, otherwise the animal can catch a cold.

Do not need to recruit water from the cat, because they are scared not so much by the water itself, but by its noise. Bathing is convenient in the bathroom or in the large basin. The water level must reach the abdomen of the animal. Also beforehand take care of the water for rinsing after bathing. Put it in a separate container and put it somewhere nearby.

Make sure that during the procedure, water does not pour into the cat's ears. Hold it tightly and soap, act slowly, without unnecessary emotions and sudden movements. Do not apply a lot of shampoo so as not to wash it off for too long. For rinsing, in principle, you can use a hose with a low pressure.

When the cat is washed, it should be wrapped with a large towel and pressed to yourself. Take it from the bathroom and wipe it with a dry towel. If the cat is not afraid of a hair dryer, you can speed up the drying process. This is especially true for long-haired cats with a fluffy undercoat.

To the cat calmed down after the experience of stress, do not bother her for several hours after bathing. Gradually she will come to her senses.
