Energy saving lamps - technical specifications

What is an energy-saving lamp to a modern person is no longer necessary to explain. Everyone knows that such an electric bulb in many respects surpasses its predecessor with a filament. And its service life is many times longer, and it consumes 80% less energy, that's why the name is so energy-saving.

Types of energy saving lamps

Previously there were only luminescent energy-saving lamps, but in recent years LEDs have been added to them. And it is LED lamps that become favorites due to better characteristics: greater light output, lower power consumption.

In addition, LED lamps are environmentally friendly, unlike luminescent lamps, in which there is mercury. And they do not flicker with a harmful frequency for eyes and they do not get tired eyes, they are more durable and mechanically strong. In general, LED energy-saving lamps are modern leaders in the market of light bulbs.

Energy saving lamps - characteristics

As for the general technical characteristics of energy-saving lamps, it is worth mentioning the most important. It:

All energy-saving lamps give a soft and uniform light, serve ten times longer than conventional incandescent lamps, significantly save electricity. The voltage of the mains to ignite such lamps and their normal operation is measured in Volts. For Russia, lamps are produced with the possibility of stable operation in direct current networks of 12 and 24 V, in alternating current networks - 220 and 380 V.

The power characteristic is measured in watts, and in energy-saving lamps this figure is much lower than that of other lamps, although they shine equally brightly. In other words, powerful energy-saving lamps give good lighting at much lower energy costs.

The luminous flux is one of the main technical characteristics of the efficiency of lamps. Since the electrical power may not correspond to the brightness of the luminescence due to the conversion of some of the energy into invisible infrared and ultraviolet radiation, the luminous flux measured in the Lumens is an important characteristic.

If we talk about energy conservation, the important component is the light output. It speaks about the ratio of the light flux and the power consumed at the same time. That is, this is the amount of light per lamp consumed per watt. In comparison with simple lamps with a light output of 10-15 lm / W, energy-saving lamps give 100% lm / W.

The level of illumination does not directly depend on the quality and type of lamp used. It is determined by many parameters and characterizes the effectiveness of the entire lighting system. This indicator will be defined as the intensity of the light flux on the working surface.

Color temperature is an important indicator for human comfort. Modern energy-saving fluorescent lamps operate in three color ranges, depending on the type of luminophores - warm white, neutral white and day white. The most favorable for the human eye is the range of warm white color temperature.

Such an indicator as the color rendering index determines how much the light of the lamp distorts the perception of colors by the person. Ideally, if the color rendering index does not distort at all, and all colors are transmitted perfectly.

And the last is performance. They determine the profitability of using a particular type of lamp. These characteristics include the speed of inclusion, the life span, the type of cap, the size of the lamp, the design of the product, the guaranteed number of switching-on and off the lamp, and so on.
