Cervical dysplasia - treatment

Dysplasia is a change in the structure of cells in the tissues of the cervix. They affect the functioning of cells and eventually lead to the development of cancer, so this condition is also called precancerous. However, this does not mean that the oncological process has already begun or is about to begin. This suggests that for several years cervical dysplasia without proper treatment can turn into a cancerous tumor.

How to treat dysplasia of the cervix?

The choice of methods for treating cervical dysplasia is associated with the severity of the disease. There are three stages of development of dysplasia:

  1. Moderate dysplasia of the cervix - in 70-90% of cases passes without any treatment. In this case, changes affect only a third of the thickness of the mucous membrane of the cervix. When making such a diagnosis, doctors, as a rule, do not rush to prescribe the treatment, recommending the patient to show up after several months for a repeated preventive examination.
  2. Moderate grade II dysplasia - when changes are affected by two-thirds of the mucosa. There are the following statistics of the predictions about the course of this stage: approximately 50% of cases of dysplasia go away, in 20% it goes to grade III and in 5% of cases it degenerates into cervical cancer.
  3. Severe dysplasia of the cervix, grade III, requires surgical treatment, such procedures are also called cauterization.
  4. Cauterization of cervical dysplasia is an operation to destroy altered tissue sites that are replaced in the course of time by healthy cells. The procedure is practically painless and is performed on an outpatient basis, in most cases there is no need to go to hospital.

To date, there are the following types of moxibustion:

In severe forms of the disease, another surgical method is used: removal of the cervix from dysplasia with a knife or wave method.

Cauterization and resection is best performed in the first phase of the menstrual cycle, when the hormonal background promotes faster regeneration of the removed tissue sites.

Conservative treatment of cervical dysplasia

In a number of countries the method of chemical - drug coagulation with preparations of vagotides, solkogin and others is popular. Its effectiveness is high only in the case of treatment of moderate dysplasia of the cervix of the I degree.

The same can be said about conservative treatment, which requires a long course and a number of drugs - antiseptics, ointments from biological tissues, phytopreparations, sea salt and so on.
