What can be done from disks?

Almost every modern apartment has a large number of old CD-disks, the use of which for the intended purpose is already irrelevant or completely impossible. Over time, they become more and more, and the question will inevitably arise: what to do with the old discs? Do not rush to throw out shiny circles, you can quite give them a second life.

French artist Elise Morin of 65 thousand old discs created an incredibly beautiful installation called "steel sea". Of course, this scope does not go, but shiny surfaces can be used for decorating objects or creating original interior details.

There are several options for using old disks

The simplest option is a stand under the hotter of the discs. Of course, such a stand is unlikely to survive right from the plate, but for a mug with hot tea this is a very good solution. You can sew the disc with a bright cloth that fits into the overall design of your kitchen or paint with acrylic paints.

By the way, the use of paint can give good results. Original will look a few black discs with different ornaments on them, such round pictures will refresh your interior and add to it unusual. With the help of scissors, you can cut out different figures from the disks, paint them at your discretion, then you will get, for example, original ornaments from cd-disks for a Christmas tree.

Australian designer Shawn Avery cuts old disks into many pieces, and then makes from these fragments wonderful birds and various animals. But in addition to such original handicrafts, you can simply cut the disk into arbitrary pieces and paste them with almost any surface. All kinds of boxes and boxes will look completely new after such processing. The seams between the pasted pieces can be removed using the usual grout for tiles. Using this technology, you can do a ball of cd-disks, which will reflect the light that hits it. This element of decor is more suitable for a night club, but your dwelling will also add a festive atmosphere.

Entire disks can be joined by the edges of metal rings of small diameter and get a kind of curtain, for example, between rooms. In addition, if you paste discs on the wall, then the wallpaper will not be needed. You can glue mugs, superimposing them on each other - you will get a complete illusion of fish scales. To fix the glossy circles on the wall, use super-glue or liquid nails. However, do not forget that someday all this beauty will have to be removed, so it's better to glue the disks on the wallpaper, so that later you do not have to ruin the walls.

Flight of fantasy

In fact, your possibilities for using old disks are almost limitless. Having original thinking and a bit of free time, you can create from the discs completely unusual, unique things. Stacks of discs, small pieces, whole circles are your stuff. In addition, the disks can be stratified, the result is a transparent disk. If there is an old microwave oven that is no longer used for heating food, then with it you can achieve a scattering of cracks on the surface of the discs, and then use them for decoration or hand-made articles. However, the stove after such experiments look likely to be lamentable, and to return it to its original form will become very problematic.

Successful experiments!
