Experiments for children at home

How often we see the picture: the whole room is literally piled up with various toys and developing games , and the child runs around looking for an interesting lesson. In such cases, parents should not remain indifferent, it is better to postpone their affairs and organize leisure activities. For example, you can spend with the children at home exciting experiments and experiments. After all, these classes are not just interesting, but also useful for comprehensive child development.

What kind of experiment can you do at home for children?

Ideas for carrying out cheerful and cognitive experiments are actually mass. But to choose suitable, it is better to focus on the age of the child and his hobbies.

For children older than 10 years who study in grade 3-4, you can conduct chemical experiments at home with help of improvised reagents such as soda, vinegar, water, gelatin, salt, food colors, soap. Such simple, but at the same time, entertaining experiments will help expand the horizon of the child, clearly demonstrate the laws of nature. We bring to your attention several examples of safe experiments for children of 10 years old that can be performed at home with their parents.

Let's start our experimental home activities with the simplest and safest experiences with water. To do this, we need: ¼ cup of dye-tinted water, ¼ cup of sweet syrup, and the same amount of vegetable oil. Now we mix all three liquids in one container and see what happens - the syrup, with the greatest density settles on the bottom, the oil will settle on top, and the colored water is in the middle. Thus, in the course of the experiment, the kids will get an idea of the density of different liquids.

Why it is easier to swim in the sea than in a river, you can explain the child with a simple experiment with water and a ball of wax. We take two containers, one pour the usual water, and in the other we make a saturated saline solution. Now we lower the ball into the fresh water, if it does not sink, we immediately weight it with the help of a wire, then gradually add the salt solution to the tank and observe - as the concentration of salt in the water increases, the ball rises upward.

For 12-year-old children, it is possible to conduct more complex experiments at home, which will help to consolidate the acquired knowledge in the lessons of biology, physics and chemistry. For example, you can introduce the child to such a concept as absorption. To do this, you need to lower the stems of a plant in a jar of colored water. After a while, the plant will absorb water and change its color. As a result, a complex theoretical concept will become apparent.
