Flowers from threads with their own hands

To decorate clothes, wreaths or other handicrafts, flowers are often used, which can be made from different materials: yarn, fabric, paper , satin ribbons , etc. Very unusual and beautifully obtained if you combine flowers made in different technologies. For the manufacture of flowers from threads, you need to have a special loom that can be bought in the store or made with your own hands from plywood or cardboard.

It will take:

• foam for the craft (plywood, thick cardboard);
• compass;
• pencil, pen and ruler;
• hacksaw;
• 12 carnations.

Progress:

1. Draw on the selected material the circle of the radius we need.
2. Cut out and make a round hole in the middle.
3. Using a ruler, divide into 12 identical sectors and sign them, assigning them numbers in order from 1 to 12.
4. On the edge of the circle, we hammer the carnations on the lines between the sectors. This can be done around the edge on the circle, retreating 3-4 mm, or along the edge of the part.
5. Our weaving machine for making flowers is ready.

Master-class: flowers from threads with their own hands

You will need:

• thread of different colors;
• loom;
• a needle with a wide eye;
• buttons.

Progress:

1. In the central hole of the machine we pass the end of the thread and on the front side we start winding the threads on the studs clockwise, beginning with number 1, then switching to number 7, then to 2 and so on, as shown in the figures.
2. For the splendor of the flower, you need to make 2-3 circles.
3. To finish the flower and fix it, take the needle and insert the end of the thread into the eyelet or use threads of contrasting color. We begin to tighten and fix the intertwined threads in the center from the petal, which is opposite to the one on which the winding was finished.
4. We wind the needle under the petal and pull it out from the other side. Then we again start under a petal and we pass through the loop formed by a thread and we tighten a knot.
5. We spend a needle under the next petal, and then we spend under it again and grab the next one, which is on the left. We continue to do this until we fix, thus, all the petals.
6. You can use another way to fix the middle. We draw the needle from below under the four petals, go back to three, and then again we hold the needle and thread under the next four and return again to three. And so on, until we sew through the whole circle.
7. If we make a very simple flower, then we can stop at this. Then fix the ends, hide them inside the middle of the flower and straighten the petals.

You can continue to braid, circling a few times, and then you get a more beautiful weaving.

You can use several thread colors and different diameters and make two-color or even three-color flowers.

The middle of the flower can be decorated with a button, paillettes, beads or other elements.

Making flowers from threads is quite simple, so you can easily decorate any of your clothes or make an exclusive accessory to it (hoop, barrette, elastic, belt, etc.), and they look good on curtains or decorative pillows.
