Often, women who care about their children's health and want to save considerably, prefer traditional products that have come to us from childhood. How to make gauze diapers for newborns?

Often moms are interested in where to buy gauze diapers for newborns. In spite of the fact that it is possible to do this today in most children's goods stores and some pharmacies, most women prefer to make such diapers themselves, since industrial products usually do not have good quality and very poorly absorb infants' bowels.

Moreover, it is not difficult to do this, because this means of personal hygiene of babies is a cut of gauze or any dense tissue in the form of a square or rectangle, stitched along the edges. The size of gauze diapers for newborns depends on the age of the baby, as well as on the way in which they are supposed to be used. In particular, the length and width of the gauze can be as follows:

  1. If the diaper is to be folded by the "Hungarian" method, it should be square and 60 by 60 cm for the smallest and 90 by 90 cm for children over 3 months old.
  2. If the gauze diaper is folded with a "scarf", it is necessary to take a piece of cloth or gauze in the form of a rectangle, the size of which will depend on the age of the baby: for newborn crumbs - 60 x 120 cm, for a half- or two-month-old baby - 80 x 160 cm, and for a youngster older than 3 months - 90 by 180 cm.

How to fold a gauze diaper?

As already noted above, this kind of fabric or gauze can be folded in various ways. Each of them reliably protects the baby from leakage, so a young mother can give preference to any method that will seem easier and more convenient for her. In particular, it is possible to dress a gauze diaper for a newborn in such ways as:

  1. The "Hungarian" folding method is clearly demonstrated in the following scheme:

    Fold the fabric in half, and the resulting rectangle in the same way reduce another 2 times to make a square. The upper corner, take it to the side so that you get a scarf. Turn the product over and fold a loose piece of fabric into several layers. On the folded diaper, put the baby, letting the lower end of the kerchief between its legs, and place the edges on top of each other on its tummy and fix it.

  2. The "kerchief" method is demonstrated in the following visual instruction:

    Fold the rectangle from the gauze in half to make a square, then again in half diagonally. Put the baby on top of the diaper so that his waist is on the long side. The lower end of the product is passed between the legs and reaches the tummy, and the side ends are folded over and fixed.

To remove such diapers, regardless of the method of putting on, should be immediately after getting wet. Otherwise, on the tender skin of the baby will appear diaper rash.
