How to braid a French braid?

For several years, hairstyles have not come out of fashion on the basis of the French braid, which is also called "spike" or "dragon". This braid looks beautiful on the hair of any length, and all kinds of weaving allow you to create a variety of images.

French braid on short hair

Owners of short hair suitable "spikelet", braided not too tight. Ideally in this case, looks a kind of traditional French spit - "waterfall" or "cascade." He wiggles diagonally or across his head, usually from right to left.

On the right side of the head, a large strand is separated, divided into three small ones and begin to weave "spikelets", as described above.

The difference lies in the fact that the hair is taken not to the left and to the right, but from below (from the occipital part) and from above (from the parietal part), and the lower strand descends each time without participating in further weaving. Hanging freely, these strands form the "waterfall" effect. In addition, they can be assembled in a bun on the side and decorated with a hairpin.

It looks beautiful on the hair of a small length and the traditional "spikelet", braided diagonally.

French braids for medium hair

The owner of medium-length hair will be decorated with a French braid braided from the bottom up. This hairstyle is done according to the traditional scheme, only the head is tilted down and the weaving starts from the occipital part. When they reach the top of their heads, they braid the ordinary braid from their free hair and tuck it in. In addition, from the remaining hair, you can twist an elegant bundle and decorate it with a hair clip.

The ladies with rare hair hide the "mouse tail" will help the tucked French braid. She trains down the usual scheme from top to bottom, and loose hair is tucked inside at the back of the head and pinned with a hairpin.

Hair of medium length will decorate the hairdo and with a voluminous reverse French braid.

French braids for long hair

On long curls, the aforementioned reverse French braid looks best. It is also called Dutch, and the peculiarity of such a weaving is that the lateral strands are not superimposed over the central strand, but are planted under it. As a result, you do not get "spikelets", hidden inside, but as if superimposed over the head of the braid. To give it volume, the strands should be slightly extended.

How to make a French braid?

The technique of weaving the traditional "spikelet" is the same, regardless of the style of the hairstyle. At the preparation stage, the hair needs to be carefully combed. Naughty locks should be sprinkled with a little varnish or greased with a gel.

  1. A wide strand is separated from the hair growth zone. The more hair got into it - the wider and more voluminous the braid will turn out. If you want to braid a thin spikelet, the strand should be small.
  2. The selected hair is divided into three equal strands. All subsequent strands should be of the same thickness, otherwise the braid will turn out ugly. Strands intertwine with each other as with the creation of the most common pigtail: the right is thrown on the middle one, and the top is thrown over the left one.
  3. Hold the left and middle strands with your hand so that they do not fall apart, grab a new one from the right side and connect it to the right strand of the main pigtail.
  4. The resulting thick right strand is weaved with the middle strand of the base, acting in the same way as when creating a regular braid.
  5. All three strands are taken with the right hand.
  6. The left hand selects a new strand on the left side.
  7. The selected new strand is connected with the nearest left and is threaded on the middle strand of the main braid.
  8. Repeating movements symmetrically, reach the end of the hair growth zone. Free hair is weaved into a regular braid.

By the same scheme, you can make two French braids - this hairstyle is especially elegant looking on the girls.
