Ceramic tiles are usually laid on cement glue, which is sold in dry form and which must be mixed with water according to the instructions until the desired consistency is obtained.

After the mixture is cooked, let's get to work. How best to begin to lay the tile: the glue is applied first at the corner far from the entrance door. Apply glue to the area, which will cover 1-2 tiles. Otherwise, the glue will dry before you tile it. If you work with thick floor tiles with a grooved surface on the back side, it is better to apply glue also on the tile itself.

Holding the trowel at an angle of 45 degrees to the floor, it is necessary to level the applied glue, moving them alternately along and across. Next, we lay the first tile in the corner, where a layer of glue is applied.

How to lay a tile - just press it with your fingers, slightly moving from side to side vertically and horizontally, but trying not to move the tile much, so that the glue does not get into the seams-joints.

Check each of the tiles laid with a level. Apply it in three directions - along, across and diagonally across each tile. All of them must lie strictly horizontally and at the same height.

Align the previous tile, proceed to the next: once again apply glue, level it, lay the second tile. At the same time, make sure that both are at the same height. It depends on the amount of glue applied.

Using the level, check the strict horizontality of two adjacent tiles. Do this constantly to be sure of the smoothness of the styling.

Do not forget to install plastic crosses every time to keep an equal distance between the tiles, called seams. This will largely depend on the overall aesthetic impression of the repair.

Periodically wipe off the tile glue with a damp cloth.
