International Day of Russian Language

Every year on June 6, beginning in 1999, the UN celebrated an interesting holiday - the Day of the Russian Language. The date was not chosen by chance, because it was on this day many years ago that the greatest Russian poet Alexander Pushkin was born. The purpose of the holiday is to support the development of Russian culture. The general program of the United Nations, within the framework of which Russia has fallen, is also aimed at promoting the progress of five more languages: English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, and French. On the proposal of UNESCO, the International Mother Language Day is celebrated on February 21 each year.

The International Day of the Russian Language is accompanied by a set of activities aimed at spreading the history of the emergence and development of the Russian language among the population, the correct pronunciation of words and phrases, the revival of forgotten and the emergence of new phrases.

The day of the Russian language is often marked by such events as:

Day of the Russian language at school

To celebrate this day begin to prepare in advance. A certain share in the organization of the festival is made by parents. For example, it is extremely popular to spend weeks of Russian in schools, when each lesson begins with reading a passage from a poem or a favorite work. Teachers are preparing a methodological material designed to arouse the interest of schoolchildren in the profound study of their native language. Thematic editions of the school wall newspaper are drawn, speeches are given in the assembly halls, meetings are organized with contemporary writers and cultural figures.
