Varicose veins are a disease that is more often found in women over 30 years of age and is associated with an incorrect outflow of venous blood and pathological changes in the veins (a decrease in the tone and elasticity of the venous walls, stretching and lengthening of the veins, the formation of nodes, etc.). The development of the disease occurs under the influence of several factors, steadily progressing in the absence of adequate and treatment and often causing severe complications. Therefore, it is very important to detect varicose veins in time and start treatment.
The first symptoms of varicose veins in women
The first symptoms of varicose veins on the legs, especially the inner one, in which the lesion covers deep veins, few pay attention. When still changes in the veins are not visualized, the painful sensations of a different nature can act as disturbing signs of pathology. Pain in the legs with varicose veins is one of the main symptoms, and it has some special features:
- pain is localized along the veins;
- occurs more often in the evening, after physical exertion;
- pain often has a pulsating, burning, bursting character;
- the pain subsides when you move your feet to a horizontal, slightly elevated position and returns when you return to a vertical position.
Other common signs of leg varicose in women, present already at the very beginning of the disease, are:
- feeling of heaviness and increased fatigue in the legs;
- night cramps in the calf muscles ;
- periodic swelling of the legs in the evening (usually in the area of the feet, ankles and lower legs).
Signs of leg varicose with disease progression
At the next stages of the development of the disease, tenderness, heaviness and other uncomfortable sensations in the lower extremities become more pronounced, are almost constant. Puffiness also increases, it becomes more stable. Visible pathological changes of superficial veins:
- pronounced vasculature;
- vascular asterisks ;
- Crimped, thickened veins with sachet deformities.
There is also a change in the skin of the legs, namely:
- the skin becomes dry, thickened;
- there is hyperpigmentation of the legs (it may be preceded by the appearance of red and blue spots on the skin);
- develop dermatitis, eczema, ulcers.
The last of these signs indicate a severe stage of the disease, requiring urgent action.
