Mosaic plaster

Modern manufacturers offer a lot of alternative finishing materials, among which is mosaic plaster. Already the name itself evokes interest about the consumer and the question arises logically: is this plaster really an analog of those mosaic paintings that adorn the facades of rich houses and churches? Plaster is used for finishing ceilings and walls of buildings and residential apartments, as well as for exterior wall cladding. The mixture is applied to a quartz primer or decorative layer of plaster.

The technique of applying this material is very simple and does not require the qualifications of masters. The use of plaster in the interior design is a sign of fundamental and stability.

Types of plaster

Depending on the external qualities and features of the application, all plaster can be conditionally divided into the following types:

  1. Acrylic mosaic plaster for the plinth . The socle name the lower belt of the facade, which protects it from contamination and damage. For its facing is used a composition of fine grains (0.8 - 3 mm), which after application create the illusion of a mosaic. This plaster is applied to cement, gypsum and lime plasters, as well as to mineral substrates.
  2. Mosaic facade plaster . Unlike the mixture for the socle, this material can include larger fractions. For finishing you can use colored and natural crumbs of different types. The application is made using a metal float method "wet on wet", when the composition is applied without waiting for complete drying.
  3. Mosaic marble plaster for interior decoration . It uses a stone crumb of different dispersity and color. Mosaic is great for finishing fragments of the room - niches, columns , arches . Because of the natural "coldness" of the stone, it is advisable to use it in non-residential rooms - halls, corridors, bathrooms.
