In the west of Ukraine, is located very well-known in Europe ski resort - Carpathians, where they go to enjoy skiing, its beautiful scenery, natural snow, and the distinctive traditions and cordiality of Western Ukrainians. On the slopes of the mountains, which have become a popular place for recreation in the winter, several separate ski resorts have been formed, differing in prices and services. Therefore, to make it easier to determine exactly where the residents and guests of Ukraine should go in winter for rest in the Carpathians, we will study each resort separately.
Bukovel
It is considered the most modern and rapidly developing ski resort in Ukraine. It is located in the Ivano-Frankivsk region near the village of Polyanytsya at the foot of Mount Bukovel. The total length of all routes is about 60 km, 16 lifts work for tourists, well-developed infrastructure (hotels, restaurants, cafes, etc.). All tracks are equipped with snow cannons and ratrakami, so they are always well prepared for driving, and some are equipped with additional lighting, which allows you to make descents and at night.
For visiting Bukoveli the best period is from December to April.

Slavsky
The most famous and populous Carpathian resort is popular not only with guests of Ukraine, but also is a favorite holiday destination for weekend residents of Lviv. There are 6 tracks that meet international standards, where training and competitions are often held. The main points of skiing are:
- Mount Trostyan - there are several types of lifts, there are trails for athletes and amateurs;
- Mount Pogar - there are 2 lifts, also designed for athletes and amateurs;
- Mount Pisanaya, Polytechnic, Menchul - for lovers.
The infrastructure here is well developed (30 hotels, many private mini-hotels, restaurants, rental offices, etc.), but very often the problem is the condition of roads and the routes themselves.

Dragobrat
This ski resort is considered to be the highest in the Carpathians. Due to the high location on Mount Stoog and the local climate, here you can ride until mid-May, not only on the prepared routes, but also on virgin snow. Come here to ride not only on skis, but also on snowboards and sleighs. Due to its location, it is only possible to get to Dragobrat on high terrain vehicles, so experienced skiers are more likely to take a rest here.
In addition to four ski lifts and eight trails of varying complexity, from 1,200 to 2,000 meters in length, the Dragobrat recreation center, the Landscape Motel, the Spartak and Edelweiss bases are located at the foot of the mountain. The best time for winter recreation here is called the end of winter and the first months of spring.

Yablunitsa
This resort is now popular because of the opportunity to settle cheaply, and ride in Bukoveli. Although the local routes are not worse than in Austria, but their disadvantage is their belonging to different masters, as each must be paid separately.
The whole ski complex Yablunitsa consists of three mountains, with the tops of which descend the routes of varying complexity. There are a lot of recreation centers built here that skillfully connect modern and retro.
In addition to the listed ski resorts in the Carpathians there are still convenient routes: Pilipets, Podobovets, Volovets, Izki, as well as medical resorts near the healing springs of Svalyava, Sinyaka and Shayan.

In recent years, it has become very popular to go on a trip to the resorts of the Carpathians to meet there the New Year, but to know the prices and book places on holiday bases for this purpose need in advance.
To determine the cost of recreation on the bases of the Carpathians in the winter of 2014, it is necessary to find out the price of using the ski lift, subscription to skiing and accommodation in the ski resort that you choose. The cost of living per day is approximately: in Bukoveli - from 65 cu, Slavske - from 40 cu, Dragobrat - from 30 cu, Pylypets - 35 cu, and to this price it is necessary to add value rent of mountain-skiing clothes and equipment (10 cu), if you do not have your own.
It is worth saying that to rest in the Carpathians go not only in winter, but also in the summer , spending time in hiking, visiting the sights and enjoying the beauty of the mountains.
