Paint for floors

The floor was painted long before the laminate and tiles appeared. It is impossible to say whether this option is better for finishing the floor than laying the boards, but one thing is quite obvious: modern types of floor paint are full of flowers, and the quality of the coating is a completely different level. For each purpose there are different types of paint, as for each type of floor.

Wood Floor Paint

For a tree there are many options from budgetary, to quite impressive for the price. But the quality of the final coating will be markedly different.

  1. Acrylic paint for a wooden floor consists of a mixture of water with acrylic resin, as well as a coloring pigment. It can be applied both by traditional roller and brush, and by spraying. But since the consumption for the wood is much larger, preference is given to spraying to save paint. Pay attention to one nuance before buying: quality acrylic paints are expensive, but their consumption is noticeably less than that of cheaper counterparts. At work, you do not have to inhale unpleasant odors, the color will remain for a long time. The coating is not afraid of temperature changes, and during work to wash off the wrong layer can be quickly and without hindrance.
  2. Alkyd quick-drying paint for the floor in composition is close to the first option, but the result will be glossy. Alkyd paints are good because they penetrate the tree deeply and thereby make the coating durable and durable. But the smell during work will be strong, aggressive chemicals for it are dangerous, and there is a risk of ignition.
  3. On sale today there is oil paint for the floor. It will dry very long, but now there is a wider choice. And it concerns not so much color, as characteristics, in particular the degree of resistance to temperature differences.
  4. Rubber floor paint for wood does not just make the surface a little softer, but also protects it from the appearance of the fungus. This is a wear-resistant paint for the floor, which is recommended for use in rooms with high traffic.
  5. Paint enamel for the floor is one of the alkyd variants, creating a strong film on the surface, perfectly protecting the tree. However, you will encounter a long drying out, do not forget about the specific smell.

Paint for concrete floors

For a concrete coating a variety of paints is not less. The main difference is not only in the composition of the paint, but also in its styling. And the paint also acts as a hardener for the top layer of the concrete screed.

  1. As for wood, there is acrylic paint for concrete floors . Its main difference is that the surface does not collapse and outwardly does not yield to many other finishing methods. If there is a medium intensity load in the room, the strength of the paint will suffice with interest.
  2. Classics considered to be epoxy paint for the floor on concrete . It is characterized by high waterproofing performance, so it can be safely used for exterior finishing. Even with intensive exposure to chemicals, the surface will not change color or integrity. There is paint on almost dry concrete, adhesion will be even stronger.
  3. For large storage areas, industrial hangars, use polymer floor paint . After application, it creates a strong layer that reliably protects concrete from external influences. If desired, for durability or efficiency, a concrete floor with polymer sand applied quartz sand, colored flocks or additional varnish is sprinkled from above.
  4. Alkyd-urethane paint for the floor gives a glossy coating, incredibly resistant to erasure. But this coating completely dries up and acquires its basic properties only three weeks after application.
