What to see?

  1. The island is famous for its penguin parade. After all, the most numerous colony of these birds is registered in this reserve - about five thousand. Penguins return from the beach every day at sunset to their burrows, and therefore this procession acquires a certain solemn appearance.
  2. The Rock Pyramid and the Valley of Oswina Roberts. The rock formed after the eruption of the volcano 65 million years ago, and the valley is a eucalyptus forest, where many owls, bats, wallabies are found. Also here you can visit the reserve koalas. Interestingly, this is the only place where animals are at large in the natural habitat, unlike those that are found in zoos in Australia.
  3. An important attraction of the reserve is the only freshwater pond, Swan Lake. On it, in addition to wild swans, many species of other waterfowl are found.
  4. In the Nobis Center (Nobbies) you can observe the marine animals and in particular the fur seals. Here, by the way, their largest colony also lives, and the coast is cut by valleys of mango trees, which reach 30 m in height. To see all this, the center offers a special excursion by boat.
  5. Cherchell Farm. Previously, it was this first innovative farm in the state of Victoria. Now there you can see the old garden, the estate with its inhabitants and with the help of this "return to the past."
