Plums for the roof

No matter how expensive the roof is covered, all the money will be spent in vain unless a proper drainage system is installed for rainwater. About the types of sinks for the roof, we'll talk today.

Types of roof drains

First of all, let's define what the plum trees are for the roof. This is a whole system consisting of gutters, pipes and funnels, which provides a quick and unhindered drain of water from the roof. By design, such plums can be external, i. E. Mounted on the facade of the building and internal, mounted in the middle. Internal plums are usually used to remove water from flat roofs.

By type of material, plums are divided into:

  1. Plastic. They are characterized by low cost, simplicity of installation and a variety of shapes and colors. Modern plastic is able to withstand fluctuations in a wide range of temperatures, has a high plasticity and resistance, and also has a good level of noise absorption.
  2. Galvanized. For their production, steel sheets with a thickness of 1 mm are used, which are then covered with a thin layer of zinc. Their advantages include a long service life, resistance to mechanical and weather influences.
  3. Aluminum. Durable, reliable and lightweight, to increase reliability, they are covered with synthetic resins, and then they are fired. They have a long service life, but they are quite expensive.
  4. Copper. The most expensive type of sink, made of pure copper or copper with various coatings. Characterized by a long service life and resistance to destruction, as well as an unusual appearance.
  5. Ceramic. Usually used for the construction of tiled roofs. Quickly mounted, but fragile enough. In addition, their rough surface contributes to the rapid accumulation of debris.
