This is a private non-profit institution, built with the money of the banker Harri Recanati and his wife Martin - Uruguayan patrons. The Rally Museum was founded in 1988 and immediately began to enjoy great popularity among connoisseurs of art.

This fact led to the need to expand the family establishment, so after a while such museums were opened in Spain (the city of Marbella, in 2000), Israel (Caesarea, in 1993) and Chile (Santiago, in 1992). The total area of ​​all institutions is 24 thousand square meters. m., and their exhibition halls - 12 thousand square meters. m.

What is stored in the museum?

Here is a large collection of works by famous continental sculptors and artists. Many of the paintings in the institution are represented by the works of the surrealists and postmodernists. Especially popular are the masterpieces of the famous painter Salvador Dali, for example, "Venus Milosskaya with boxes", "The constancy of time", "Space Venus" and other works.

There are two types of exhibitions in the museum:

  1. Constant. Here are the best works of modern Latin American authors: Cárdenas, Juárez, Robinson, Volti, Botero, Amaya.
  2. Temporary. Visitors are invited to get acquainted with the works of art of the famous masters of the world, collectors also bring their private collections here.

The exhibition halls are spacious and alternate with small patios, where you can see unusual sculptures made of marble and bronze. This arrangement of expositions allows visitors to enjoy painting and at the same time relax in the fresh air.

The institution operates daily, except Monday, from 14:00 until 18:00. Entrance here is free, and photography is free. The main goal of the founders of the museum is the popularization of national art on the whole planet. Therefore, everything here is aimed at ensuring that the maximum number of visitors can get acquainted with the expositions.

The Rally Museum does not accept donations or contributions, there is nothing to profit. For this reason, there are no souvenir and book shops, cafes or restaurants in the institution.

How to get to the sights?

The museum is located in the prestigious area of Punta del Este . You can reach it by car through the streets of Av Laureano Alonso Pérez or Bvar. Artigas and Av. Aparicio Saravia, the journey takes up to 15 minutes.
