Red spots on the abdomen

Any rashes on the skin, including red spots on the abdomen, are a signal of that, then the body has problems. The reasons for such rashes may be many: allergies, disruption of the gastrointestinal tract, nervous or endocrine systems, fungal skin lesions, infectious diseases. Therefore, it is rather difficult to determine precisely why the belly is covered with red spots.

The main causes of red spots on the stomach

Consider the most common cases in which this may occur.

Hives

The most common cause of skin rashes. Characterized by the appearance on the stomach and throughout the body of a lot of small red spots, similar to a nettle burn, where the name came from. Hives can be acute and chronic. A sharp form, usually, provokes the effect of some allergen, insect bites, some physical factors (prolonged exposure to elevated or lower temperatures). Chronic urticaria can be caused by malfunctions in the endocrine system, helminthic invasion, toxicosis during pregnancy.

Lichen

Most often in this area you can observe pink lichen (Gilbert), but also there is ringworm . With such diseases, multiple red spots appear on the abdomen with uneven contours, which itch and flake. For treatment, antifungal ointments are used, and in the absence of effect, the intake of antifungal drugs may be prescribed inside.

Erythema

It is a supposedly infectious disease, the nature of which is not clearly established. It appears in the form of flat convex papules, which increase in size, merge into garlands and rings and can reach very large sizes.

Psoriasis

It is a chronic non-infectious disease, presumably of an autoimmune nature. It causes the appearance on the body, usually on the elbows, hands, knees, less frequently on the abdomen of red-pink scaly spots.

Prickly heat

Skin irritation caused by increased sweating in hot weather. At adults it is observed seldom enough, but can serve as the reason of occurrence of small red maculae in the bottom of a stomach and inguinal area.

Other causes of red stains on the abdomen

In addition to the above reasons, the appearance of red spots on the abdomen may be a symptom of infectious diseases, such as rubella or scarlet fever. Both diseases are quite dangerous and are accompanied by a small red rash.

Also, red spots on the abdomen often occur during pregnancy and after childbirth, or can be caused by tanning. In these cases, they do not represent any danger and after a while they pass independently and without consequences.
