Sarangkot


Sarangkot is an amazing place, from the height of which tourists can admire the fascinating landscapes of Pokhara and its environs. The route to the summit is very exciting, so the excursion to the peak of Sarangkot is one of the mandatory in Pokhara.

Location:

Mount Sarangkot is located on the opposite side of Lake Pheva , opposite the Peace Stupa in Pokhara.

What interesting things can you see?

The top Sarangkot is the highest point in the vicinity of Pokhara (1590 m). From this height one can observe the Great Himalayan Range, including the mountains of the 8,000-strong Daulagiri, Annapurna , Manaslu, the Pokhara Valley and the beauty of the lake. To climb the mountain Sarangkot can be several routes, the main one takes a start at the temple of Bindi Basini. By the time unhurried walk to the top will take you about an hour.

The most amazing pictures of beauty can be done during the dawn, when all the neighborhoods of Pokhara come to life in a transparent morning light, illuminated by a bright sun emerging from behind the horizon.

The slopes of the Sarangkot descend directly to the waters of Lake Pheva, and therefore climbing to the top can be combined with a walk along the lake and skating on multi-colored boats on the watery surface. In addition to mountaineering, the Sarangkot in Pokhara is a place for paragliding.

For the rest of tourists after the tour in the town there are several hotels (including near the temple) and restaurants.

When is the best time to visit?

To see all the fun, you should go to the top of Sarangkot until dawn (3-4 hours in the morning) or in the evening before sunset.

How to get there?

To enjoy the panorama from the mountain Sarangkot in Pokhara, you can get either yourself or as a part of the excursion group by special transport . In the first case, you have to go or by any city taxi to the Bindi Basini temple, or on a shuttle bus to the Pandeli stop. Further the road is very bad, and you will have to walk to your destination. In the second case you will be brought directly to the place where the excursion begins.
