Sauna on the balcony

The desire to steam, without leaving the apartment, leads some enthusiasts to equip the sauna directly on the balcony. And although it seems impossible for anyone, installing a steam room in an apartment is a perfectly feasible task.

Infrared sauna on the balcony

If you do not have a country house or grandmother in the village, having a sauna in a city apartment will be an excellent alternative. It is extremely important at the same time to conduct the necessary electrical wiring and isolate the room so that the walls do not become damp.

In addition, you need to make sure that your balcony is able to withstand such additional stress. In old houses with dilapidated ceilings and balconies it is not recommended to take such a risk and install a cabin with a sauna.

In the rest, with the installation of the infrared sauna should not be a problem, because you do not need to stove the oven with wood and remove smoke or install a drain for water. A unique microclimate in such a sauna is created with the help of infrared heaters.

You need to glaze and well insulate the balcony, taking care of the steam and waterproofing, that is, do not forget about the hood. The sauna itself can be made independently or buy a ready sauna, on the balcony of the apartment can fit a cubicle about 80x80 cm in size. This is the minimum allowable size of the cabin at a height of 2-2.1 meters.

As for the wiring that you will have to carry out on the balcony, it is advisable to choose fire-resistant cable brands and lay them in a metal sleeve. If you do not have sufficient skills for such works, it is better to entrust them to a specialist.

If you install a booth for 2-3 people do not allow the dimensions of the balcony, you can confine yourself to a mini-sauna, in which only the body of one person is placed, and the head remains outside. Of course, this does not look quite aesthetic, and is not particularly convenient, but if there is no other way out - the option is quite acceptable.

Safety rules in the sauna on the balcony

To avoid trouble, you need to adhere to some rules of conduct in the sauna on the balcony. For example, it is better to bring a separate outlet to the balcony, the cable from which will be connected to a separate machine. And never conduct wires inside the steam room.

For fire safety, isolate the stove-heater from the wooden floor and walls with heat-resistant material, for example - asbestos board. Do not use conventional lamps in the sauna, but choose heat-resistant (minimum 120 ° C) with IP54 moisture protection class.

Doors from the booth should open outwards. It is better not to do constipation on them. And all metal parts such as screws and nails, hammer as deep as possible, so that they do not burn your skin when heated.
