Ski Resort Avoriaz, France

A small resort rises on a cliff above the Morzine valley of the Shabla massif at an altitude of 1800 m above sea level. Resort Avoriaz appeared relatively recently - in 1966 on the place where shepherds grazed the local shepherds. Freshly built village immediately attracted the attention of skiers and snowboarders with its unusual architecture: wooden buildings stylized in modern and Savoy style incredibly harmoniously fit into the surrounding rock and meadow landscape. It is noteworthy that you will not find cars in the ski resort of Avoriaz. They strictly follow the ecology, and therefore the guests move on wagons, sleighs and snowmobiles. Thanks to this, the local clean air is filled only with the aromas of frost and needles.

The resort has five skiing areas. This is the Du Festival, De la Falaise, De Rusch, De Crozat, De From Fort and De Dromont. For mountain skis Avoriaz offers ample opportunities. The total length of the ski runs is 150 km with a different height difference, maximum 2277 m. Of the total number of trails (42), 24 descents are suitable for beginners, 14 are marked in red and have an average difficulty level, 4 slopes are marked in black and are extremely complex. Excellent conditions for snowboarding are also considered, since there are two snow parks on Avoriaz territory for every taste. Beginners will be comfortable in "La Chapelle", experienced athletes - in "Bleu du Lac". The resort is equipped with 38 lifts: chair lifts, gondola lifts, rope towers and cable cars.

In addition, the resort offers good opportunities for après-skiing - there are bars, a cinema, clubs, shops and restaurants. A children's village is created for children, where the younger generation teaches winter sports and is entertained in every possible way. You can relax in the sauna, Turkish bath, billiards, bowling or squash.
