Social development of preschool children

All parents dream that their growing child was successful in communicating with peers. After all, it is through communication with children that the character, type of behavior in society and personality are formed. That is why social adaptation is so important for preschool children. Coming to any collective, people need time to get used to and "reveal" themselves, while children learn in the community to live, which directly affects their development.

Social characteristics of the child

Social development of preschool children includes the process of assimilation by children of the values, traditions and culture of the society, as well as the social qualities of the individual, which help the child to live comfortably in society. In the process of social adaptation, children learn to live by certain rules and take into account the norms of behavior.

In the process of communication, the child acquires a social experience, which is provided by his immediate surroundings: parents, garden educators and peers. Social competence is achieved due to the fact that the child actively communicates and exchanges information. Socially unadapted children most often reject the experiences of other people and do not come into contact with adults and peers. This can lead to antisocial behavior in the future because of the lack of mastering of cultural skills and the necessary social qualities.

Any activity has a purpose, and the ability of the child to achieve the goal gives him self-confidence and gives an awareness of his competence. A sense of importance directly reflects the evaluation of society and affects its self-esteem. Self-evaluation of children directly affects their social health and behavior.

Methods of shaping the social experience of children

In order for the child's personality to develop harmoniously, the social development of children must be based on an integral pedagogical system. The methods that affect the formation of the child's social status include the following activities:

  1. Gaming : in the game, children try on themselves various social roles that make them feel full-fledged members of society.
  2. Research : enriches the child's experience, allowing him to find solutions on his own.
  3. Subject activity : enables the child to know the surrounding world and satisfies his cognitive interests.
  4. Communicative activity : helps the child to find emotional contact with an adult, get his support and evaluation.

Thus, when creating conditions for the social development of children, it is necessary not only to transfer social experience to them in the form of knowledge and skills, but also to promote the disclosure of internal potential.
