The most colorful village in the world, which you must see!

Clotting. It is in this village that in the south-east of Poland, each house, each well can be safely reckoned to works of art.

This is a special place. Its main highlight is the unique decorative style of decorating houses, all kinds of buildings.

And it all began in the early 1940s, when the keepers of the home heartedly tried to mask the traces of soot that covered the walls and ceiling of their homes. In the fifties of the last century, Polish authorities announced a competition for the most colorful houses in the villages. That's when Zalipje blossomed and the famous Zliptian ornament was born.

It is interesting that initially the drawing was unpretentious, but the painters of self-taught artists created from brick, ash, clay and lime. Further on the surface they were applied with the help of a birch twig, crushed at the base (it also served as a brush). What was earlier, what is now, the main feature of the creation of the Zaliptovian ornament is that there is initially no sketch or black sketch. The masterpiece begins with a small flower, to which are added all kinds of patterns and floral compositions.

What else is popular in a colorful village? It turns out that the "House of Artists" works here, in which everyone can take a course in teaching techniques of Zalipsky drawing. There are often meetings of Polish and foreign art schools.

Also on the territory of the village is the house-museum of the artist Felitsia Tsurilova, who popularized the Zalipti ornament. And since 1948 the festival-competition "Malevana Khata" has been held here annually.
