Thailand is one of the most popular countries among tourists. Unobtrusive service, piquancy of national cuisine and enthralling nature - how can you refuse a trip to one of the Thai islands?
1. Phuket
The largest island of Thailand consists of several resorts, named after major beaches. Among them you can find areas with inexpensive housing for every taste - for example, the stew Kata, the peaceful Kata Noi or the youth Patong. Phuket is an ideal resort for a Russian-speaking tourist who is not yet at odds with English. In Patong, you can find Russian schools, restaurants and hospitals.
2. To Lipé
The southernmost point of the Andaman Sea is the small island of Ko Lipe, fully justifying its remoteness from the main resorts. The resort is considered the best place for snorkeling and fishing. Local beaches are pleasing for cleanliness 24 hours a day: the minimum number of tourists simply does not have time to pollute them. On Ko Lipe there are no multi-storey hotels: guests are welcomed by charming small houses with a minimal set of amenities. The only drawback is a small area of the island - you can go around it in just an hour!
3. Koh Lanta
Inexpensive vacation on Ko Lanta has an exotic flavor. The indigenous inhabitants of the island are sea gypsies, to look at the over-water houses of which tourists from all over Thailand come. Chao Le, as they call themselves, almost do not speak Thai and have their own view of life: they believe in the unity of nature and spirit, refuse meat and violence. Gypsies do not believe in the weather forecast, but for no money tourists will be taken to the sea tour after predicting the leader promising a storm. Chao Le is incredibly friendly to the guests - they will certainly offer guests accommodation and a traditional dinner.
4. Phi Phi Le
On the island of Phi Phi Le there are no hotels: tourists come here early in the morning on high-speed boats, and in the evening they return to Phi Phi Don or Phuket. The fame of this uninhabited corner of Thailand found after the shooting of the film "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio took place in Maya Bay Bay. The lack of tourist infrastructure does not prevent enthusiasts from staying at Phi Phi Le for the night. Following the example of the heroes of the film, they founded a kind of commune with a constantly changing composition of participants. After living a couple of weeks in seclusion without WI-FI and satellite TV, the inhabitants of megacities feel a rush of vivacity and creative energy.
5. Tarutao
In the ranking of the wild islands of Tarutao, no problems pass Phi Phi Le. On an area of land of impressive dimensions, there are impassable jungles with transparent waterfalls and fast rivers surrounded by rare plants. Fans of animal watching come to Tarutao: boats come here twice a day, so lizards, lemurs and huge sea turtles are not afraid of people. The island built bamboo huts for visitors and employees of the national marine park Satun Tarutau.
6. Hua Hin
Located in the Gulf of Thailand resort Hua Hin is considered the official recreation area of the Thai royal family. Here is the summer home of the king, who wants to be as close to his subjects as possible. The desire to achieve unity with the population has reached such proportions that the royal person issued a law on low cost of housing - and this despite the fact that most hotels in Hua Hin have a category of 4-5 stars. This fact is known to all experienced tourists, booking places for holidays several months before arrival. From visiting Hua Hin, couples with children will not refuse: the city has practically no nightlife.
7. Phangan
In Thailand there is its own analogue of Goa - the resort of Had Rin on the island of Pangan. Music of different styles does not stop here around the clock: a quiet such a holiday can be by definition. During the full moon once a month, the legendary Full Moon Party is held on Pangan, which is visited at least 20 thousand people each time. 8. Tachay
In 2004, the island survived the tsunami and reconstruction work is still ongoing. On it there is still no network of five-star hotels - one of the markers of high prices for recreation. Samet is a typical tropical island with transparent lagoons, white sand and coconut palms. It is located in the Gulf of Thailand, so it can be quickly reached from Pattaya. Samet is popular with travelers who are accustomed to diversity: on the western side of the island, the beaches and jungles expected from Thailand are replaced by stern rocky landscapes.
10. Koh Tao
The island of Tao is considered the most inexpensive resort of the country, so from the 80s it was chosen by students. On the Tao, all move on motorcycles, because movement on cars is prohibited to preserve air purity and rich fauna. On the early booking of hotels do not waste time: along the edge of the water is a huge number of guesthouses. Pliable masters on the spot without problems will reduce the price by 30-40 from the originally declared, so that the bargaining is appropriate.
