1. Refractive lens replacement is performed when myopia progresses - at -20 diopters, for example. Basically, the operation is prescribed, when the eye can no longer independently distinguish objects. The old transparent lens is replaced with an artificial optical power.
2. Some patients require the implantation of phakic lenses . The procedure is recommended for those who have natural accommodation not yet lost. Natural the lens is not removed. A lens is implanted on top of it.
3. Very popular is the treatment of myopia with a laser . This therapy is indicated only for patients older than eighteen. During the operation, the cornea is exposed to the beam and gives it the shape of a so-called natural lens with individual parameters for each patient.
4. Keratoplasty also consists in changing the shape of the cornea. But for this, transplants are used. The latter are located on top or completely replace the corneal tissue.
