Growing of flowers venidium - seedlings

Since the annual is a native of the African heat, it is usually planted on the open ground in seedlings. They are engaged in the cultivation of venidium from seeds in the second half of March - early April. A small container for planting (basin, box) must be filled with a substrate of good loose soil with a neutral reaction. Seeds are placed in furrows with a depth of about 5 mm and lightly sprinkled with earth. Watering the seeds, they are covered with food film or glass. It is recommended to place the container in a warm room with an air temperature of 20-24 degrees. Usually the first shoots will please the grower in 1-1,5 weeks. It is then possible to remove the film or glass coating, and the capacity in seedlings - to transfer to a well-lit place. If there is not enough light, the seedlings will be elongated and weak. In the future, for the successful cultivation of young plants, it is important to water them in a timely manner, but do not overdo it, since venidium is sensitive to excess moisture and can be affected by rot.

Venidium - planting in the open ground and care

It is possible to transplant the venidium into the open ground as soon as frosts that are dangerous for a plant with roots from Africa cease to appear in your region. Usually this is the beginning - the middle of May. For a full flowering, the Venidium flower requires a well-lit plot. There are plants and requirements for land: it grows well on light soils with good drainage properties. The flower is suitable for both loamy and sandy loamy soil with a neutral reaction.

Plant young plants in small holes together with an earthen lump, which will help the seedlings better transfer the change of place. We recommend to dig holes at a distance of 25-30 cm from each other. Since the venidium is characterized by some lodging of the stems, a small support can be installed in the hole near the stem.

In the future, care for saplings venidium requires timely, but moderate watering, as well as fertilizing with mineral fertilizers to improve flowering.
