Wicker furniture today can make the interior of your dacha original and fashionable. It animates the room and makes it cozy. Such furniture is quite expensive, and not everyone can afford to buy it. But it is quite possible to make wicker furniture for the dacha with your own hands. Wicker rods, a vine, a bamboo , and even, oddly enough, old newspapers can serve as a material for manufacturing. Today we present to your attention a master class on making a table for a TV in the paper-weaving technique. Materials you will need:
- newsprint - 500 sheets, from it there will be approximately 1000 twisted tubules;
- glue PVA - 1 bottle;
- stain "Tick" - 2 bottles x 450 ml, diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 2;
- lacquer furniture;
- wheels - 4 pcs.
Step-by-step instruction
- First, to make wicker furniture with your own hands, make drawings of the table top and figured legs. You can make the legs straight - it will not be so beautiful, but easier to manufacture. Then, for the table top and the stand, you need to cut out blanks with a size of 50x60 cm. For this you can use shelves from old cabinets, from which, using a jig saw and cut rectangles with rounded corners.
- Four legs are cut from the same unnecessary shelves. In the workpieces of the legs and countertops make holes for their connection.
- Now we begin to braid the legs with twisted paper tubes with a simple cotton netting. First fix the stand-tubules at the butt end of the legs with a stapler and glue PVA and then we spin around in a circle to the top, where we also fix the tubes with glue and a stapler. And so we braid all four legs.
- We are braiding the lower part of our table. The pattern can be chosen any, according to your desire. In this case it is the same cotton. From the underside of the counter we temporarily grab a tape. Excess tubules are cut off and fixed with a stapler with glue, but leave those that will be struts at the ends of the countertop. Along the edge of the stand, weave a string with a string and then on the side 3-4 rows with a cotton pattern. Stand with bolted legs must be connected with screws, putting them for reliability on glue. Leave it overnight to dry the glue.
- We fasten the top tabletop and only then we braid it with the same pattern as the bottom one. Then on the bottom stand we attach the wheels, bought in the store of furniture fittings. The entire product should be painted with stain and allow it to dry well. And only after that, cover with a colorless furniture varnish.
