Wooden furniture by own hands

Now very common is furniture made of plastic or chipboard, but still natural wood always remains in price. How to make furniture from a tree with your own hands?

1. First of all, we compose a simple drawing of the table. Drawings of furniture, which we will make of wood, will allow us to make preliminary calculations of the material and fasteners.
2. What kind of wood do furniture do? It is best for this case suitable solid wood - oak, beech, ash, white acacia, walnut, elm, apple. Coniferous trees are mostly softer species. We will not make any exclusive product, but still the strength of the material is of great importance when choosing a wood for making countertops. For work we need four wooden bars with a section of 50x50 mm and a length of about 80 cm.
3. For the manufacture of countertops, we bought a furniture board with dimensions of 600x600x19 mm.
4. We process the table top with fine-grained sandpaper so that all edges are smooth and without any burrs.
5. Next, we need the brackets of metal L-shaped configuration length of about 50 mm.
6. For fastening, you can not do without 38 mm screws.
7. Staples are bolted to the foot so that its bend is at the same level as the end of the bar. To facilitate the work, you can identify the locations of fastening screws and drill holes. We fasten the staples to all the 4 th future legs.
8. Turn the bars 90 degrees and attach to each leg with one more bracket.
9. To fix the legs to the table top we will use screws of a shorter length - 12 mm.
10. We put the table top on the flat supports face down.
11. We expose the legs with staples downwards in the places indicated at the corner of the tabletop.
12. Our legs will be located almost along the edge of the table.
13. We fasten the clamp to the table top through the holes made in it.
14. Similarly, we attach the second bracket, then we do the same operations with the other three legs.
15. Now you can turn the table and put it on the ground with your feet down.
16. We check the strength of all the connections of our table in a normal position.
17. It remains only to cover the wooden surface with paint or stain, completing our work with the last spectacular stroke.
18. Manufacturing of furniture from a natural tree is finished. After a day, the table will dry, after which the product can be used.
