- The use of oily ointment is most effective for the treatment of skin diseases accompanied by dryness, as well as in the case of a chronic course of the disease, when there is a need for the use of anhydrous drug.
- Emulsion has an effective therapeutic effect in the event of sunburn or contact dermatitis. However, it should not be used more than twice a day.
The full course of treatment with any type of release is not more than one month, which is due to the presence in its composition of a large number of hormones that can have a negative impact on the child's body.
Advantan for children: indications for use
Advantan is used as an external remedy for both direct application to the skin and with the use of an occlusive dressing.
Advantan cream for children is used in the treatment of the following diseases:
- dermatitis of various etiologies (atopic, allergic, contact, neurodermatitis);

Advantan for newborns: side effects and contraindications
The use of Advantan in children younger than four months is not recommended. It is important to observe the dosage and use it no more often than once a day to avoid the appearance of side effects:

- erythema;
- hypertrichosis;
- the possibility of liquid bubbles in the area of application of the drug on the skin.
In rare cases, folliculitis, perioral dermatitis is noted.
However, most children tolerate the use of Advantan quite successfully.
Advantan ointment is not used as a therapeutic agent in the presence of such diseases as:
- tuberculosis of the skin;
- syphilis;
- rashes on the skin as a local reaction to the vaccination of the child.
Thus, Advantan is an effective remedy against various fungal and skin diseases, which is widely used in childhood to accelerate the recovery. However, it is worth remembering that this drug is hormonal and has a strong effect on the so far only emerging children's body and its hormonal system. Therefore, the advisability of the use of Advantanum must be solved only together with the pediatrician.
